The Future

by thequickbrownfox @ 2008-07-23 - 21:42:54

We're doomed! We're doomed!
Do you hear me? We're doomed!

For billions are today alive,
And most on bits of paper thrive,
So our human future dreads,
In government air-heads,
But now so many half-wits at the top,
Means the baloon will surely pop.

We're doomed! We're doomed!
Do you hear me? We're doomed!!!!!!

Money, Money, Money

by thequickbrownfox @ 2008-07-21 - 16:55:50

Although they abound, soon it will be found,
The Dollar, Euro and the Pound,
Just bits of coloured paper are.
But though worshipped like the sun our nearest star,
Society now up its tree,
Soon the truth will see.

Taxation

by thequickbrownfox @ 2008-07-13 - 22:42:13

Hi diddly-dee,
The government said it would be free,
Knowing not many would detect,
Taxes indirect.
Parliament, our stinging bee.

It has been said, truthfully, that the art of taxation is to pluck the maximum number of feathers from the goose with the least amount of hissing. Consequently, the more you hiss the less you'll pay in tax.

The Brutal Truth.

by thequickbrownfox @ 2008-07-09 - 20:52:43

Tick, tick, tick,
Time away at life does pick,
Each day slides quickly past
Refusing to for longer last.
It will for no one wait,
And caring not for those who hate,
It just daily passes by.
"STOP!" It hears not my cry,
Tick, tick, the clock it ticks,
As at my life away it picks.

Big Brother

by thequickbrownfox @ 2008-07-07 - 10:40:58

Has Big Brother arrived?

Is Big Brother an American?

Read this article in the Daily Mail and see what you think.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1032374/How-America-snooping-YOU---soon-snooping-lot-more.html

What disturbs me most is that a significant number of Americans are Limey haters. In fact they hate Limeys so much that they would do anything to cause a Limey problems.

Worse is the fact that many of these Limey haters hold high positions in America and now they have access to all your private information, and mine too.

I think it might be time to begin preparing for an unpleasant future.

{Added Note: Take the NatWest 3. Was that the American legal system in search of justice or was just straight forward 'Limey Bashing'?}

Insurance

by thequickbrownfox @ 2008-07-02 - 14:08:20

In North Carolina, Cahrlotte,
A smoker smoked a lot,
And bought one day cigars expensive,
As they were by the box addictive,
But so he could be of his possessions sure,
He did his box insure,
And did include as well for fire,
In case disaster did transpire.

But when he the cigars had smoked,
Insurance people choked,
And said he was insane,
When he the company did call,
And put in a claim,
Saying in fires, twenty four quite small,
His possessions up did burn,
And so he did compensation earn.

But insurers did to pay refuse,
Saying he their contract did abuse,
So the man the issue fought,
In a local court,
And as legal arguments did turn and twist,
The claimant contract wording did assist,
So the judge did finally decide,
The company must by law abide,
And the claimant pay,
What 'er the judge did say.

Fifteen thousand was the sum,
And this insurance folk did stun,
But though unwillingly they paid,
The matter was to rest not laid,
For as his cheque the claimant did deposit,
Police him did arrest,
And did him then imprison,
On counts twenty four of arson.

For did he not willfully his property destroy?
And does this not the law annoy?
So for this awful crime,
Twenty four thousand was the fine,
And as arsonists should suffer hell,
He was to prison sent as well.

Thank God for the Irish

by thequickbrownfox @ 2008-06-29 - 17:44:04

Honesty did on Ireland bank,
So Europe should the Irish thank,
Because with a profusion,
Of confusion,
Brussels' folk could swan around,
And grind people in the ground.

For did the treaty something say?
Or did it just with people play?
Anyone who could not the clauses understand,
Would know not where they stand,
So rulers all could take their ease,
And interpret clauses as they please.

Then should them anyone dispute,
Or try to their words refute,
Could they afford the legal fees?
Would lawyers them with charges tease?
Every single sentence with a cost,
Would ensure the cause was lost.

So why this treaty did the rich desire,
And try a "YES" vote to acquire?
Was it so they then could bellow,
At anyone below?
For when they, the rich, were feeling mean,
None would know what various clauses mean.

This treaty meant the rich the poor could tease,
And do what'er they please.
They could it lord,
Over those who could not legal fees afford,
And so the confusion,
Would demand of many an exclusion.

In Europe's history such a crime,
Shows Brussels steeped in grime,
So surely it is time,
To end this pantomime,
And tell the Brussels' swine,
We, the people, are not asinine.

The Treaty Song:

These words are made for walking,
And that's just what they'll do,
One of these days,
These words are going to,
walk all over you.

Books

by thequickbrownfox @ 2008-06-25 - 12:41:19

Christopher Booker and Richard North,
Have once more come forth.
They 'Scared To Death' did write,
And gave me as well a serious fright,
Though now no longer fooled,
I can see that we by fools are ruled.

You should this book to read make haste,
As you will your time not waste,
And then you may with me agree,
When I say that today,
In Westminster greedy half-wits sit,
Ready ever to throw a mindless fit.

Trains

by thequickbrownfox @ 2008-06-22 - 12:26:26

You may suffer pain,
Upon an English train,
As from you seat,
The smell your nose does meet,
May not at all be sweet,
As many put their feet,
Upon the seat,
And what the odd shoe upon the seat did do,
Was walk first in dog pooh,
As so on an English train you'll likely sit,
In dog dung, a disgusting bit.
