  • Hidden taxes

You must they say the law obey,
Despite the fact the government with it does play,
So now if you for anything at all get in court a fine,
The government makes a new beeline,
    For the wallet,
    In your pocket,
Because there is to greed no bounds,
And so an extra fifteen pounds,
    You must pay,
On top of anything the judge might say.
    Another hidden tax,
Placed on a nation who in mind are lax,
And as well in spirit fat and flabby, decadent and corrupt,
    Because the government does know,
It can its tax base safely grow,
As revolution never will in our land erupt.

  • Pay me - Pay me.

The policeman in his clumsy dress,
    Called for a witness,
Who had seen the law breaker,
Who was of liberties a taker,
And not only did our way deny,
    But did parliament defy.

I said that I had seen,
What on the street had been,
Then asked how much he paid,
    To those who weren't afraid,
    And would the story tell,
Of deeds which polititians made unwell.

    He looked at me aghast,
And then with words me did blast,
    Saying that my civic duty,
    To the community,
Meant I should not ask for pay,
Or try to with him play.

He also said I should a statement make,
And he would down the details take,
    And in time the court,
    Would the matter sort,
    By issuing a fine,
To those who did the crime.

And if I had to take the stand,
    I would understand,
That in this land of law,
    The worst is the outlaw,
And so no one would me pay,
As I had in life my part to play.

    But I said,
Seeing in my eye the colour red,
"You demand I act for free,
    And accept no fee,
And also that I give my time,
So you can clear the crime.

But the polititians talk of civic duty,
    And of our community,
    But many will agree,
    They nothing do for free,
And say they have the right to relish,
    Payments always lavish.

And it's not hard to prove,
Hardly anyone in law today will move,
    Unless they're paid a free,
Which with good times does agree,
And even you won't go to court,
Unless overtime your paycheque does support.

    But me?
I'm supposed to do it all fro free,
    While criminals who police advise,
Oft get payments they can prize,
And of course the super grass,
    Does vast amounts amass.

In pubs as well the smoking spies,
    Who so many do dispise,
    Large amounts will earn,
    By grassing up a tavern,
But would they work for nowt?
Is not money what the law's about?

So I'm sure you can discern,
That if I don't money earn,
    I will not you assist.
And there's no need to insist,
As I without payment can't recall,
    What | saw at all.

For don't all our leaders have an itch,
    To be very rich,
And it must to you be plain,
I am like them the same,
For despite the fact they make me spew,
I only do what they would do"

  • Hypnosis

    No one could resist,
    The stage hypnotist,
    Who could everyone command,
    And whatever his demand,
    In their hypnotic state,
    His will subjects did accomodate.
So truckies round the stage would prance,
    And like ballerinas dance,
While other men he would induce,
    To even telephones seduce.
Women he'd make laugh or cry,
And their most precious thoughts decry.
For people were to him a toy,
And he did them on stage employ.

    But Fate did him greet,
    One day,
    When he started his display,
    And put his subjects under,
And then prepared their wills to plunder.
So as the six sat upon their chairs,
    None had any cares,
    As their hypnotic state,
    Did all thoughts negate.
But when he did in his pocket reach,
For that speech about a beach,
Which he'd planned for one to read,
    As they'd then proceed,
    The instances to act,
And make on the audience an impact,
He found he the paper couldn't find,
And this put him in a bind,
    Which him did so discomfit,
    He unthinkingly said "SHIT".
And then with an added "ooohhh", he did himself repeat.

  • Happiness

Roses in a bed of green,
    Standing bold,
    With centers gold,
Their petals of a vibrant red,
    Open to the sun,
In search of happiness and fun.
But such beauty can't by human voice be said,
And must each time be seen.

  • Where are we headed?

The government has increased the numbers of police,
It gave lots of extra money to the police,
And showered new technology on the police.
It even formed a new force of police,
And remember, traffic wardens plus their cameras are now police,
But still the government can't our streets police.

  • European Unity

    It is to many plain,
We must all in Europe be the same,
    So there is unity,
    In our community.
But today alas to unity the theft,
Is Britons driving on the left,
So for unity all Britons must conform,
    To the European norm,
And it's said new laws which this demand,
    Are presently in hand,
    Though there's a consensual,
It must the change be gradual.
    So Britons must remember,
    That in December,
    On the first at midnight,
Only buses and lorries will drive upon the right,
    Then the first of January,
    The final stage will see,
And prove Brussels has some testicles,
    As all other vehicles,
Will then drive as well upon the right,
    And thereby Europe more unite.

  • Smoking

It has in the past been seen,
    It has smoking has been,
    A form of rebelliousness.
    A show of impiousness,
    A kind of dare,
    Which gave a person flair.
    But Westminster now does state,
    It will rebelliousness not tolerate,
    And every person must obey,
What 'ere the govement does say.
For it can with computers now enslave,
    And demand that all behave,
In ways it does the government define,
Or they'll face a hefty fine,
Which if they refuse to pay,
Means that they'll be locked away.
    For computers are the tool,
Which means governments even thoughts can rule,
And now the future is so bleak,
Few will dare to of it speak,
    As anyone who'd dare rebel,
Will be by computers given hell.

  • Love and Marriage

    In relationships,
    Life's partnerships,
    In men and women's energy,
    There sometimes is no synergy,
    So when they disagree,
    There explosions sometimes be.

For example: Hubby does one day decide,
    That to have his pride,
    He his life must organise,
So him his wife can prize,
And he can as well on all catch up,
So he on life's joys can sup.

He therefore carefully makes a plan,
    The very best he can,
And he his day does organise,
So he all his goals can realise,
The up he jumps and starts to move,
So his manhood he can prove.

But when wifey sees he's go, go, go,
    She certain things does know,
    That hubby her did promise,
    Things to cause her bliss.
And as now he is for action in the mood,
She to these things can allude.

    So 'Hubby dear,
I know you hold me dear,
You said you would the kitchen paint,
So why not be a saint,
And from the garage get a brush,
As you'll finish quickly if you rush.'

'Yes my dear,' is the reply. 'I know what I did say,
But today it's not my way,
As now things I have to do,
    More than just a few,
    So another day perhaps,
I'll not let my promise lapse.'

    But this does wifey dissapoint,
    And all her hopes disjoint,
So she cries, 'What about the shelf you said,
You'd do before you went to bed?
As you your word did give,
You up to it should live.'

'My dear,' the ruffled hubby does reply,
'I would to you not lie,
So though I to you my word did break,
    For pity's sake,
    Another time,
    I'll make it fine.
    This I swear,
If for now you'll with me bear.'

    'But husband dear,
    You would today me cheer,
If right now the lawn you'd mow,
As the grass does quickly grow.
And as you surely love this house,
You'd not be to it a louse.'

'Dear wife, I will with you be frank,
I must to the bank as we too much our balance shrank,
There's as well the car to fix,
    And people to see six,
I also said I'd call my boss,
In case he's at through me a loss.'

'But husband dear, I refuse to let,
    You your promises forget,
There's so many things you said you'd do,
And I must ask each day anew.
But it is your daily feat,
    To always me mistreat.'

'Wifey dear, please, right now I'm in a rush,
So I beg you not to fuss,
    Another time,
I will with your wishes chime,
But if you me now delay I'll fall behind,
Then life to me will be unkind.'

'Spouse of mine, you always me mistreat,
And hardly me will ever treat,
The garage you said you'd clean,
    But to me were mean,
So I had myself to do the chore,
    Though it was a bore.
So please I have a thirst,
That today you put me first.
    So don't go out,
    Or my love you'll flout,
For you've said on promises you stood,
But your words have proved no good.
You wish to me just use,
And my love as well abuse.
    I'm but a doormat,
    Helping you get fat,
    And as well a maid,
Who can at night be laid.

    'Since the day we married,
    You always have me harried,
    And today you me ignore,
As I'm just to you a whore,
    So on this sunny day,
    Go out and play,
    For I will you let,
    My love forget,
And of those jobs you've still to do,
I myself will do a few,
For am I not a shrew,
    Who won't with you argue?'

    'Dearest wife of mine,
It's true I've sometimes let you down,
And you have a right to frown,
But I here must draw a line,
For your words incline me to be curt,
You see, you're causing in my mind a mist,
And if you in this way persist,
You your lovely face upon my fist,
    Might accidentally hurt.'

  • Goodbye blair

As he prepares to ride off into the sunset toni blair asks us all to forgive him for his mistakes.

But I'm not forgiving him. He can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway it is not a person's Christian duty to forgive an evil man. Especially just before he sets off to collect his evil gains.

In time to come historians may well describe the blair era as the greatest confidence trick of all time.

We'll soon hear blair say things like: "Iraq? I'm so sorry, I made a mistake. But you will forgive me, won't you? By the way, do excuse me. I must dash. I've got a half hour million pound speech to give. Toodeloo."

Will he get away with it?

    Probably.

If you read Daniel Yergin's excellent 'The Commanding Heights' you will know that, in the greater scheme of things, what you or I might say is simply irrelevant. We are not important people and therefore anything we might say is, in the greater scheme of things; just not important.

  • The Queen in America

I really liked the bit in her speech
    Where she said:
    "Your country and mine."
    The word 'your' being plural,
    And 'mine' being singular.

  • Life!!!

    Strewth,
In the sixties we grew up,
And did of its glories sup,
Though if you'd ask of what we'd say,
    About today,
It seems we sat in Derren Brown's photo both,
But this is alas not Marrakesh,
And seems to have a Mars or Pluto mesh.
