  • Newspapers and Television.

    Look! See!
    A celebrity,
    Who themselves does preen,
Because it to them does seem,
    You should yourself excite,
    And make yourself look bright,
As their presence does on you bestow,
    The right inside to glow,
And it would to them seem mean,
If you now failed to jump, shout, clap and scream.

    For though celebrities abound,
    They make TV go round,
    And they also papers sell,
A fact which should you tell,
That the media on them all depend,
    To their profits skyward send,
As when they need a scandal or a story,
    They search for a celebrity.
So they imply all should celebrities respect,
Because they to profits are a special sect.

  • AISLING and other Irish Tales of Terror.

This book by Peter Tremayne is a thoroughly delightful collection of Irish terror stories.
First published in 1992 I'm surprised I haven't heard people speaking about it but one thing is for certain, after reading this, if I ever go back to Ireland I'll be taking a crucifix, some garlic, some heather and anything else that's reputed to ward off evil with me.
    First class.

The book ‘Aisling and other Irish Tales of Terror,
    Does not the Irish mirror,
It’s just in some spots evil spirits dwell,
    And give the unsuspecting hell,
    And Peter Tremayne,
    Should surely gain some fame,
For this little book of stories,
    Of evil’s territories,
    Which the innocent should scare,
If to read the book they’d dare.

  • BRAINWASH, The Secret History of Mind Control.

This book by Dominic Streatfeild is absolutely excellent.

Objective, well researched and well written, it is a must for anyone who is interested in the human mind and people's attempts to try and control it.

    A fascinating read.

  • Truth in Westminster?

    The government, of truth conductors,
    To the DSS gave lie-detectors,
    As they can cause disruption,
To those who’d gain money by deception,
For all they must be stopped,
And by their lies be chopped.

But there should be no exception,
    So obtaining votes by deception,
    Is every bit as bad,
So they should lies expose the cad,
    Then voters can in confidence,
    Vote upon the evidence.

So to journalists the government should give,
    Lie detectors; corrective,
So all will write the best,
    When they politicians test,
As then none to journalists will lie,
If they in the polls don’t want to die.

There should as well be no exclusion,
    With ministers on television,
And on the screen a big red dot,
    Would eliminate the rot,
As when the computer did a lie suspect,
The flashing dot would have effect.

For if someone does a vote desire,
A lie test voters should require,
    On everything the hopefuls say,
When down their plans they lay,
As then all voters can be sure,
    Westminster hearts are pure.

  • Nomi Mobile

Like a sheep today I’m bleating,
    Nomi Mobile is me cheating,
For when I my credit sight,
    Everything most times seems right,
    But suddenly they miscalculate,
And charge for a call a whopping rate,

This disappearing credit makes me cry,
And five pence per minute is a lie,
So though I oft for cheapies lust,
I no more will Nomi trust.

    ---

After first getting a Nomi Mobile sim card I began to feel that I really wasn’t getting much for my £5 top-up if I was only being charged 5p per minute. Sometimes when I checked everything seemed to be okay but when I checked another time it would seem as if I’d made some long calls I didn’t remember making. Consequently, after this had gone on for some time I decided to do some checking and found that at one time they overcharged me 20p for a call and then when I woke up next morning and checked my credit I found they’d taken another 50p out of my account when I hadn’t even used the phone. Then I checked my credit after every call and everything seemed fine for several days but when I got up this morning and checked my account, I found they’d taken another 40p out of my account when I hadn’t even used the phone.

    So beware of Nomi Mobile.

  • Should You Invest in Gold?

Although I will admit that I found it very hard to get any clear idea of what £150 billion of quantitative easing actually meant in terms of the total British money supply, I got the impression that this will end up devaluing the pound by about eight percent.

The IMF is currently warning that this country is in great danger of going bankrupt.

If the pound does collapse thanks to decisions made by MPs, some of whom are now claiming they didn’t get enough training for the job, the pound in your pocket will be just a worthless piece of paper. But, if you put a portion of your money into gold, the pound you own today will hold its value no matter what happens.

America, it seems, is creating new money on almost a daily basis and so gold is almost certain to go up. After all, the American dollar, like the British pound, is only a piece of paper and its worth is really based on the amount of trust people who have paper money place in the people who control its production.

If you trust the bankers and politicians then you should have no doubts about the value of keeping your money in government backed paper swap tokens. But if you don’t, then putting your swap tokens into something more tangible is a good idea.

  • British Lords.

    Mandy Real Shoe
    In Westminster a lord,
The real hose with heart untrue,
    Cares not for discord.

The ear holes, king size real shoe,
With all ale horses in Westminster,
    Are creating a future sinister,
And cause good Britons all to spew.

  • Are artists stealing from the taxpayer?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1195276/30-000-70-grocery-receipt-It-doesnt-add-art-darling-.html

It seems it's not only politicians who are giving the tax-box the 'hippy-hippy shake.'
